Authentication

Proving who a visitor is, and remembering it.

Sign-in methods include passwords, magic links, OAuth ('Sign in with Google') and passkeys. After sign-in, the server issues a session, usually in an HTTP-only cookie. Use a provider (Clerk, Auth.js, Supabase Auth) rather than building this yourself.
